Women's Platform Bootie (Ankle Boots)

A platform bootie is an ankle boot with a thick slab of sole added under the forefoot, sitting in front of a raised heel. The honest weakness is that easier pitch does not mean a safer boot. The foot sits farther from the ground than the heel height alone implies, so a misstep off the edge of that thick platform has farther to fall, and a narrow ankle boot shaft gives less to brace against on the way down than a taller boot shaft would. Buy true to size, and walk a full stride in the shop rather than just standing, since a platform can hide a genuinely high heel until you are actually moving in it.

Check the platform's edge for any separation from the sole after wear, since that seam takes real stress with every step. Wipe leather clean and condition it as you would any boot, and replace the heel tip promptly, since a worn tip on a tall combined heel and platform skids more sharply than one on a lower shoe. Store upright so the shaft does not fold against the added height of the sole.
