Look for the instructions, age or weight limits and certifications relevant to the product. For used, children's, electrical and large household items, search the exact model for active recalls.

Add the full cost
Add energy, water, filters, ink, blades, pods, batteries, subscriptions, servicing and likely replacement. A low shelf price can hide an expensive routine.

Read the warranty before checkout. Check who pays shipping, whether labor is covered, how returns work and whether spare parts or local repair are available.

Find out how long security updates are promised, whether the core product works without an account or subscription, and what happens to your data or features if the service closes.
