An Induction Range uses electronic coils beneath glass to create a changing magnetic field that heats compatible cookware directly. The glass warms mainly from contact with the hot pan rather than from a glowing element. That gives rapid power changes and less heat released around the vessel. Sensors detect cookware and controls manage each zone. The oven remains electric, so the range requires the specified electrical circuit and contains more power electronics than a basic radiant model.
A Radiant Electric Range uses the same smooth general shape but heats an element and glass before the pan, which slows response and leaves more residual heat. A Gas Range offers visible flame and broad cookware compatibility while adding combustion emissions and grate cleaning. Induction combines fast adjustment with a flatter, cooler working surface. It gives up compatibility with nonmagnetic cookware and may produce fan noise, clicking or mild pan vibration depending on power and vessel construction.
Fast boiling, precise low cooking and hot climates where reduced room heat matters are strong uses. It can help a household seeking no open flame, though hot cookware still makes the surface and food dangerous. Avoid buying before testing every essential pot with a magnet and checking its flatness and size.
