Test high-dynamic-range claims for actual brightness, contrast and local control rather than a logo. Ports need enough bandwidth for the advertised combination, and the cable must support it. Stand adjustment, text clarity, fan noise, firmware updates and an easy way to change modes decide whether gaming features remain usable daily.
Run the native resolution and refresh with variable refresh enabled, then choose an overdrive setting that behaves well across typical frame rates. Keep ventilation open, especially on bright local-dimming models, and clean the panel with an approved cloth.
